Tee Ball FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q: What is Tee Ball?
A: Tee ball is a fun children’s game. It is a modified version of baseball where the child hits the ball off a tee of an adjustable height, instead of having the ball pitched to them. Tee Ball is best remembered by the 4 F’s-Fun, Fair Play, Fundamental Skills and Family Involvement.

Q: When is Tee Ball played?
A: Tee ball is played during Summer from October through to March with a break over the Christmas holidays. The Saturday morning game is one hour in duration.

Q: How much does it cost to play?
A: Tee ball is a very affordable sport. The Wanneroo Joondalup Tee Ball Club has a season fee. This fee includes TBAWA affiliation, insurance, game fees, team equipment (such as uniform shirt, bats, balls, tees etc), photo, trophy and administration costs. View the registration form on the Registration page for current fee information.

Q: Are there extra expenses?
A: Yes , you will be required to purchase socks (Long White socks available for Kmart or Target are fine) and Grey baseball pants which are available to from the club. Also required is a mitt which can be bought from most sports stores eg. Batcave or Fielders Choice.

Q: What is the commitment needed from the player?
A: As with all sports there is some commitment required. There is training once a week after school, which lasts for about an hour. The Saturday morning game is one hour in duration. One or two twilight weeknight games may also be included in the fixtures. The opportunity to represent the club and participate in extra training & carnivals is available for players who wish to take their skills to the next level.

Q: What commitments do parents have to make?
A: Parents are required to help so that the team runs efficiently. Typically one parent will be the coach, another will be the manager and other parents will help as required with Plate umpiring, Field Umpiring and Scoring. The club holds clinics at the beginning of the season to support parents in these roles.

Q: What day & time will my child have training?
A: Once your child has been placed in a team the Coach or Manager will contact you to arrange a suitably convenient day/time and place for training.
